New Horizons ... On a Mission from God!

Past Mission Projects

Smitties Warehouse, Louisiana: Following the Katrina disaster, Mr. Smitty used his auto supply business to house employees who had lost their homes; New Horizon partnered with business to match our financial donations. Our kids and youth made Christmas ornaments to brighten their holidays.

Project Slaughter, Louisiana: We added a personal touch to missions by assisting a family profoundly affected by Hurricane Katrina, and the people they housed. The Slaughters lost their home in Baton Rouge and escaped to a country home for refuge. We sent clothing, household items, and lots of love to support them.

Adopt a Platoon: Regardless of how you feel about the war, our troops need support. Our youth has adopted a platoon of registered nurses. They have requested magazines, candy, colored sheets, pillow cases and anything that reminds them of home. The entire congregation of New Horizons is waiting to adopt another platoon for you to help.

Adopt a Grandparent: New Horizon is located near the Villa at Morlatton. Many of the residents have long-distance relationships with their grandchildren. Many of our youth have grandparents out of state. We have developed an "Adopt a Grandparent" opportunity. Some of the events already begun are movie night, Craft making, and an inter-generational Bible Study.
